Short message from the President

Hello all!

I wanted to give a quick summary of some of the ongoing ECEIM activities and highlight some important dates before everyone goes on a well-deserved Christmas and New Year break!

The 2024 Congress is set to take place from 14th-16th November in beautiful Copenhagen, Denmark. Please be sure to visit the congress website for more information on the venue and location. Information will continue to be added/updated to the congress website as the scientific and social programmes are developed. The pre-congress workshops and scientific programme were discussed at the December Board meeting. The ATAC committee recently sent out a survey asking members what topics they would like to be considered when constructing the pre-Congress specialist training day. An ATAC member will be presenting the results at the January Board meeting, with a topic to be chosen based on the survey results, scientific programme outline, and speaker/demonstrator availability.

There will be a 30-minute Board and Committee presentation/Q&A session at the 2024 Congress while the 2024 AGM will again be held online, after the Congress. One issue identified from the 2023 online AGM is the number of people who logged into the meeting for under 10 minutes. A minimum of required time to be logged into the online AGM meeting for attendance to be counted for recertification purposes will be decided by the Board and relayed to everyone prior to the 2024 AGM. The AGM slides are available on the ECEIM website for reviewing.

The ECEIM examinations are set to run from Monday January 29th-Thursday 1st February. The 2024 Summer chool will take place in Nottingham, UK; the dates are still to be decided. The ECEIM Board successfully submitted the EBVS College 5-year report November 14th, 2023; the document has been uploaded to the ECEIM website for membership viewing. Thank you to members interested in joining committees, people will be contacted in the new year.

The new ECEIM website is working well; I wanted to again give out a huge thank you to Erwin van den Berg, Ruth Morgan, Gila Sutton and the ECC and Exam Committee members. There is also a new EBVS website; all members need to activate their new profile and set up a new password.

Finally, I want to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year!

Cheers!

Lisa
ECEIM President
