What about the title of a resident?

The question of whether residents should be allowed to use a title or post nominal to describe their status after they have completed their residency programme but before they pass their exams and become a Diplomate was discussed at the EBVS AGM in April 2013.
There was unanimous agreement that residents must not use any title to describe their status whilst waiting to sit (and pass) their exams. If they need to describe their status in CVs or letters of application for jobs they should simply describe themselves as 'residency completed/credentials submitted/credentials accepted' (whichever of these apply). It was also confirmed that residents must not use a title or post nominal whilst residents (i.e. Resident ECEIM may not be used).

Please note that this is the same decision as made by ECEIM Board earlier in the year on this subject.
