ECIM or ACVIM board-certified or board eligible clinician

A twenty equine only clinic seeks ECEIM or ACVIM board-certified or board-eligible medicine clinician. 
The clinic has an established and expanding referral caseload in both medicine and surgery. The medicine caseload is varied, including a significant neonatology component (125 cases in 2024).
The role would require an enthusiasm for clinical work to support our veterinary team and to further develop the medicine caseload (which has already been developed by an ECEIM diplomate.)
Equine Clinic Meslay du Maine is a specialist led private practice located in the west of France.
The main activity of the clinic is racehorses (TB and SB ; 60 %) and Sport horses (40%). 
The team of 20 vets (including 5 interns) has an important and strongly increasing hospital activity with more than 1100 hospitalized horses per year and more than 500 surgeries per year.

Responsibilities to include: 
• Working closely with the practice team, including 1 European Specialist in Equine Surgery and 1 ECVS resident, to deliver a comprehensive professional service to our clients and referring veterinary surgeons. 
• 1 in 3 out of hours rota to manage emergency admissions to the clinic and ensure care of inpatients, with full support provided by the surgical team, nurses and interns. 
• Management of the established internship programme, including training of the interns through clinical work, journal clubs and imaging rounds. The clinic is already approved for an ECEIM residency programme. 
• Coordination of our laboratory (which is now improving into a bacteriology lab) and anaesthesia services.
• Promotion of the clinic and our services, and to our referring veterinary surgeons.
• There would be the opportunity for peripatetic medicine work to support our referring practices. 

Knowledge of French is considered a plus.
