Maternity Cover - Equine Hospital, University of Zurich, Switzerland

The Clinic for Equine Internal Medicine at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich is seeking a maternity cover (senior clinician, fixed-term) from December 2025 to April 2026. The level of employment can be determined individually and flexibly.

A subsequent appointment to a regular senior clinician position (60-100%) is possible for interested and suitably qualified candidates (see separate job advertisement).

Requirements:
•    Veterinarian 
•    Completed residency program (Board eligible) or Board Certification in Large Animal Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and/or Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM)
•    Team player with sufficient clinical experience in equine internal medicine.

Responsibilities:
•    Clinical work in equine internal medicine (incl. neonatology, emergency, and intensive care medicine)
•    Assisting in the theoretical and practical training of students, assistant veterinarians, interns, and residents (ACVIM / ECEIM) on the clinic floor
•    Emergency service at night and on weekends (on-call duty, including standby duty during foaling season)

Salary/employment:
Employment is based on university guidelines for senior clinicians of the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich, considering former training and experience.
