The hospital provides services within the fields of medicine, surgery and reproduction and has a farrier in house. Currently, there are specialists from following colleges working at the large animal hospital: ECVS (European College of Veterinary Surgery), ECEIM (European College of Equine Internal Medicine) and ECAR (European College of Animal Reproduction). Furthermore, there is a close cooperation with the clinical pathology and neurology service of the companion animal hospital and microbiology and pathology at the faculty of sciences, University of Copenhagen.

The move from the old historic building in the city center to the current equine hospital approximately 20 km outside of Copenhagen was finished in 2008. The hospital has six examination rooms, two operating theatres with 4 padded recovery boxes and 16 boxes located close to the examination and surgical facilities for particularly critical patients. We also have 25 boxes, an isolation section and boxes reserved for outpatients.More than 1000 cases are referred to the Equine hospital on an annual basis. Furthermore, the hospital also provides care to other large animal species (mainly bovine) as well as a field service to the surrounding area.
