ECEIM ombudsperson

The ECEIM ombudsperson is a senior Diplomate who is charged with representing the interests of the College members (Diplomates and residents). The minimal term of office is three years.

The ombudsperson is appointed by the Executive Committee but works as an independent and neutral official. The typical duties of an ombudsperson  are to investigate complaints and attempt to resolve them. After receiving a complaint the ombudsperson will contact all relevant parties and work to come to a resolution that is fair and unbiased, usually through recommendations (binding or not) and/or mediation. In some situations there is a fee payable to ECEIM associated with the complaint.
