Social Dinner Party

Social dinner party

Social dinner will be held on Friday 28th October 2022 at Palazzo Brancaccio, a baroque residence palace located in Rome city centre, 5 minutes by foot from the Colosseum. The social dinner will offer a different experience from previous dinners. The main theme will be a Halloween Costume Party, so delegates are encouraged to bring and wear their own costume! Games and activities will be organised (incuding a best costume contest) for entertainment, dancing music and a bar keep you entertained throughout the evening. During the evening there will be a short presentation of the new members of the college (new ECEIM diplomates from 2020, 2021 and 2022!) and introduction of the 2023 Congress in Lyon. This will not be a sit-down dinner. Food and drinks will be available. Once included drinks run out further liquid refreshments will be available at a cost at the bar. Once you arrive at the venue you will need to enter the main gate and walk through the gardens before you reach the red carpet staircase leading to the part of the building where the party will take place (see picture)

As the route between the hotel and the venue is only 9km, but between 6-8pm it could take between 30 and 90 minutes in Rome's unpredictable and chaotic rush-hour. While some transport will be organised, 3h should be available between the end of the AGM and the start of the dinner party. The organising committee expects that delegates would prefer to make their way using other means of transport (metro and by foot) so to viist the city centre in the process. Group walks will also be organised across town (reaching the city centre from the hotel via metro) to view the major touristic attractions (Spanish steps, Piazza Navona, St Peter Cathedral, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Fori Romani/Traiani and the Colosseum and much more - walking ~3km). If you decided to walk you can either wear your Halloween costume or simply just have it brought to the venue by one of the busses.

Alternatively public transport such as the metro is a fast and cheap way to move through Rome during rush hour.  To use the metro get on the line A at the Cornelia station and descend at the "Vittorio Emanuele" station (10 stations) which is 5 minutes by foot from the venue. Also e-bicycles are available to rent through out the city, but please me mindful of the traffic and of potholes.

Busses will be available to bring delegates back to the hotel from 12am, while for the most enthusiastic the party can continue at one of several clubs in Rome city centre.
