By sharing our knowledge and working together, we make positive impact, both nationally and internationally. Our 1,500 students and 950 staff members inspire and strengthen each other. Our engagement connects us. The drive to, from an integral perspective, make the world a better place.

At the Division of Equine Internal Medicine, equids with varying medical illnesses are treated. Every year during foal season (March – June) a special Equine Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is set up to provide intensive care treatment for critically ill foals. The unit is staffed by European board certified ECEIM specialists and technicians. Specially trained foal nurses (veterinary students) watch the foals 24/7 and provide round-the-clock care for the sick foals. Furthermore, four external ECEIM residents visit our hospital for a month each for an equine neonatology externship as part of their ECEIM training program.
