Endell Equine Hospital Medicine Specialist - new position

Job Description:
Endell Equine Hospital invites applications from qualified individuals for an equine internal medicine specialist position. This is a new position that has never been offered at the hospital before, so we are seeking a driven, enthusiastic individual to join our team and develop this position and the specialist medicine capabilities in the region.

The hospital manages a high caseload of medical cases but is looking to expand our offerings and quality of care further in this regard as well as become a multidisciplinary specialist hospital. We are looking to expand our medical offerings further including respiratory, endocrinology, hepatic, infectious disease and especially cardiology.
The successful candidate will also work with the specialist surgeon to continually improve clinical standards within the hospital and the equine division. Research activities and literature publication are encouraged.

We work closely with our partner hospital Valley Equine in Lambourn and part of the duties including providing medicine assistance to their team. Out of hours expectations are secondary on call the majority of the time, providing advice or assistance for primary on call vets who triage the hospital cases.

The hospital is well equipped, with lots of equipment including:
•    Digital radiography
•    Multiple ultrasound machines including a new hospital cart-based scanner
•    Nuclear scintigraphy
•    Standing MRI 
•    Endoscopy + gastroscopy
•    Surgical laser
•    Therapeutic laser
•    Fully staffed lab, able to do in house bloodwork, cytology, BAL and TTW analysis, culture & susceptibility and more
•    Multiple treatment rooms and stocks
•    Full theatre and all the surgical instruments
•    Dental power tools and extraction instruments
•    Objective gait analysis system
•    Electrochemotherapy 
•    Shockwave
•    Access to additional equipment as necessary through the equine division

Required Qualifications:
•    Current ACVIM/ECEIM/ACVECC specialist or equivalent, or board eligible
•    MRCVS
