How to apply for the exam

ECEIM exams will take place in Hannover, Germany (University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Bünteweg 9, 30559 Hannover, Germany) every year in February.

2021 Candidate question and answer evening

A Q&A session about the organisation of the examination will be hosted on 1st December 2020 at 8pm CET (7pm GMT). Attendance is not essential and no new information will be provided. This session is designed simply to ensure any questions are answered. Click here to join the meeting

Examination information

Following an external review of the entire examination process, the Board have approved modifications to the examination process as detailed in the latest training brochure. A video describing these modification to residents at summer school is now available. The board are currently consulting on the location of the 2021 examinations in due of the pandemic.

Remote invigilation process for 2021

Due to the pandemic all examinations will be undertaken locally with a local invigilator. These will be undertaken between 8am and 6pm CET. Information about this process is available here.

OCM training material

Practice OCM material has been prepared to assist you understand this examination format. These can be accessed at

Case 1: Equine Neurology – This case is presented to candidates as a Mock OCM in Examplify and will be available upon enrolment. A recording from summer school can be found here.

Case 3: Acute febrile and can be viewed here. This session also included a reminder about how to answer single best format questions.
