ATAC Committee

The overall purpose of the ATAC committee is to provide oversight and strategic advice to the Board of ECEIM to ensure the development and maintenance of an ongoing and well-co-ordinated programme of high-quality training and professional development for Diplomates of the College.

The committee shall consist of five Diplomates of the ECEIM:

  1. The ECEIM President will be ex-officio member of the ATAC and will ensure close liaison with and reporting to the Board.
  2. Committee members will be appointed following nomination by the Nomination Committee in the usual manner.
  3. One member of the committee will be proposed to the Board as Chair of the Committee by the Committee members and will usually hold this position for one year.
  4. One member will serve as liaison officer to the Scientific Committees (SC) and Local Organising Committees (LOC) organising ECEIM Congresses after nomination by ATAC (Chair of Training Day).
  5. One member will act as Chair of the Webinars.
  6. One member will act as Chair of the Journal Club.
  7. Committee members shall serve for a minimum of four years and maximum of six years.
  8. The committee will meet at least once a year, but meetings will be conducted by teleconference where practical.

The ATAC shall:

  1. Regularly consult with the Diplomates of the college to identify priorities for training and professional development.
  2. Consult with Congress Organising Committees (SC and/or LOC) to identify specific topics that both fulfil priorities identified by the Diplomates and can be delivered most effectively given the local facilities and expertise. Specific details of speakers, timetabling and practical and financial arrangements will usually be determined by the SC and/or LOC and thus the ATAC's role will be limited to strategic oversight only.
  3. Develop, in close collaboration with the Board, strategies to produce a long-term and ongoing plan to enhance delivery of training and professional development over the medium and long-term including but not limited to short courses, practical courses and web-based options.
  4. Organize and assess feedback from Diplomates who have attended specific events in order to identify strengths and weaknesses that may help inform and improve future training and professional development events.
  5. Produce an annual report to be delivered at the College's AGM summarising any training events that have occurred in the past year and outlining their advice to the college on strategy for training and professional development.
